In his twelfth year as executive director of The Grable Foundation, Gregg Behr manages a grantmaking portfolio advancing high-quality early childhood education, improved teaching and learning in public schools, and robust out-of-school time support. From 2002-2006, Gregg served as president of The Forbes Funds, another Pittsburgh-based foundation that supports nonprofit capacity-building, research, and leadership development. Nationally, Gregg is chair-elect for Grantmakers for Education and is a trustee of GreatNonprofits.org ; he is a former board chair of Grantmakers for Effective Organizations. In Pittsburgh, he co-chairs Remake Learning. In 2016, the White House recognized Gregg as a Champion of Change for his efforts to advance making and learning; in 2015, he was recognized as one of America’s Top 30 Technologists, Transformers, and Trailblazers by the Center for Digital Education; and in 2014, Gregg accepted the Tribeca Disruptive Innovation Award on behalf of Pittsburgh’s efforts to reimagine and remake learning.
