Nicolaj has been a consultant for 25 years to the public sector in Denmark, Scandinavia and the European Commission. As a partner in the consulting firm, Realize, he addresses education, social policy and integration/immigration. He focuses on building capacity in the public sector, nonprofits and foundations for high performance by data-driven reflection culture, systematic professional practicing, and effect focus for citizens. Nicolaj has conducted 15 randomized controlled trials, including the largest RCT for pre-school children with 12,000 children.
