Julie joined Morino Ventures in February 2020 and serves as the Executive Director of the Leap Ambassadors support team. A licensed clinical social worker, she possesses 25 years of experience as a practitioner, educator, grantmaker, and executive in the social sector. Previously, she served as Chief Impact Officer for the United Way of Greater St. Louis where she oversaw all aspects of strategy, programming, investments, partnerships, and evaluation. Key accomplishments include the launch of a $40 million start-up foundation for children’s behavioral health, the development of a common outcomes framework to communicate collective results and build grantee capacity for evaluation, and the transformation of a $60 million fund to drive equity, collaboration, innovation, and impact.
Julie’s areas of passion and expertise include strategy development and deployment, system and program design, community engagement, performance and outcomes measurement, and quality improvement. She has been involved with the Malcolm Baldrige Quality Award in Missouri for over 10 years most recently serving as a Judge, and has taught Evaluation of Programs and Services at Washington University’s Brown School where she earned her Master’s degree in Social Work. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas.
A resident of St. Louis, Missouri, Julie serves on a number of local and national boards/advisory boards including the Superstar Foundation, MissionBox, Concordance Academy of Leadership, Nine Network PBS, St. Louis County Children’s Service Fund, and Washington University Brown School.
