Tim serves as Senior Advisor, Equity and Community Affairs for Morino Ventures, LLC, and Senior Advisor, Equity to the Leap Ambassadors support team. He is a social psychologist who received his Ph.D. from Case Western Reserve University in Sociology with specializations in Medical Sociology and Aging and the Life Course. Currently, he has a dual appointment at Norfolk State University as Associate Director of Research & Scholarship for the Center for African American Public Policy and Assistant Professor of Sociology and Urban Affairs. He is a scholar who recognizes no distinction between academic concerns and service to society or science and social commitment. He is the founder and CEO of a national model for urban education called the HBCU Preparatory Schools Network, which was a system of primary and secondary schools modeled after Historically Black Colleges and Universities. He is also co-founder of PolicyBridge, a public policy think tank.
